10 mm Frostgrave: Episode 1 continued

In the last post the small warband of adventurers were travelling North from Sagan to Smallhand a village close to a region they had been given to understand would be filled with opportunities to make at least a modest profit.

In the last post they travelled across a landscape they did not know well and found themselves lost and lacking food.

Anselem noticed a temple old and overgrown and waving from atop a pillar a citizen of the locale waved ferociously at him. Perhaps he might have food and directions.

Unfortunately it was at that moment Brice spotted the 4 Clingers loitering near the ruins.

If the party were to be able to aid the citizen  the Clingers would need scaring off or distracting. The warband knew the latter was their best hope as the lack of food meant they were -2 Health and -1 Will.

Brice and Hud moved south trying to distract the Clingers, who moved randomly but infuriatingly in the right direction.

Anse, Esch and Haf skirted the shrubs east while Anse enchanted Esch's weapon.

The Clingers spotted Hud and Brice and being simply creatures made straight for them.

Anse cast enchant weapon on Haf this time and they crept closer in cover to the ruins.

The Clingers moved far more rapidly than either Brice or Hud expected and shoot however Brice dodged both attacks. It was the distraction they needed as Anse etc drew close to the ruin.

The Clingers suddenly put on a spurt of speed and 2 attacked Hud and despite a draw still hit the ground unconscious. Brice ran off.

Anse and Haf inspect the supplies briefly and then moved to support their thief as he ran around the building. Esch escorts the civilian out of harms way.

Anse casts Fog between the Clingers, Hud and themselves to confuse them.

Anse then cast Elemental Bolt on the lead Clinger killing it and causing the rest to flee the board.

Haf drops round the building to aid Hud who made a full recovery after the game.

The warband managed to secure enough food for another days journey and met the human Gant who as it happens comes from the village of Smallhand and will make their last days travel much easier.

Next episode will be what happens in Smallhand and the warbands first foray into the ruins to look for treasure.
