Syracuse Empire Flagellants

Short post today, not feeling so good, Mick had 50th do last night, Congrats fella.
I have been working on these Greek miniatures from The Foundry for quite some time now, for two reasons. I've been putting them together to create an Ancient Greek Empire Army, themed around the idea of Syracuse and Archimedes/The Ten thousand. Also to use them in our games of Quest as the city folk of Jaccio. You may have seen some of the models below in the bar room fight at The Windy Wharf not long ago. In terms of WFB they are my core group of Flagellants which I hope to make into a horde in the end with some fillers to help.

I bought all these a very long time ago, but have only recently got them into shape, I am half way through building Steam tanks and other chariots as well as lots of spearmen/halberds.

ClashOTF: Swarm Shoot

This morning I had an early start so got on with finishing off the Swarm 10 mm models (they are actually about 12mm) I have been making for about the last 3 weeks. So I couldn't resist taking a load of shots of them in action. Should be a game coming along some time soon.

Made the larger miniature, not sure what it is yet, some sort of bio-tank, from a GW Genestealer miniature all swopped about.

Craters are by GW, very nice but a bit flimsy for me, I'll be mounting them on board sometime soon.

I watched Starship Troopers so many times with my kids and played the game when I was a lad that couldn't resist setting up this siege.  Looking at it I am going to have to get the film out again and sort out a model of the base the Troopers actually defend in the movie.

Serefina's Five Parsecs Crew

We finally got round to creating Serefina's crew so that we can play Five Parsecs together. This will add a whole new dimension to Five Parsecs for me and make me have to think quite creatively about the scenarios we play.

Here is the sheet that she put together. We agreed that she should have a different themed group because she loves the whole Dark Materials: P Pullman books. So nearly all the characters have Daemons to accompany them. It gives her a crew of 5 plus 4 Daemons, which all have the same abilities in order to keep it straight forward.

Zita Berret is the leader of the group and at the moment the only fully developed character, she is also a sort of Witch character with psychic powers to be developed as we play.

ClashOTF: High Fences

For the battle report I did recently I wanted to make some specific terrain pieces for the game. Mainly a set of high fences to create the feeling of a compound area. These I made from a few lolly sticks as the base, matchsticks for the uprights and some rubber matting for the fence itself, I use this matting all the time, it was very cheap. Finally a few stones and a lick of paint and Oak stain, watered down 50/50.

I made 10 of them but may well need to create a few more in the future, but I will try to resist :-)

ClashOTF: In Game Markers

After I had played my first game of ClashOTF I thought that the markers I had used in the game worked well enough but weren't specific to the game. Being a bit of a nerd (a bit!!!) that way I set about making new markers for future games.

These are all made from cereal packet card, doubled over and glued with PVA, then painted with acrylics and sealed with Dark Oak stain. After all that paint they become quite resilient.

Heads down markers. Perhaps they should look more grumpy.

Stress markers.

Kill markers, which are really for me to show who died where in a turn.

Next I will be making some area effect templates for weapons and explosions.
