Impassable Terrain or Small Plateaux

This is a piece of  impassible terrain which I have made for several game systems, I see it being used in Frostgrave and Ghost Archipelago as well as Kings of war and in some circumstances Warpath and Pulp Alley.

Based on a card core with PVAcrete over the top then painted. This stack is a bit different as it has a hole through the middle, was looking for a alternative look.

Now with a few miniatures and other terrain added to give a sense of scale.

I threw the skeletons on because they were out from a game of Frostgrave Monday night.

Five Parsecs: Containers

Here are some of the containers that I managed to finish from the other day. I have already used them in a game and will be posting that in a few days time.

After I had painted them a basic grey, then a highlight of lighter grey, both cheap stuff from the Range, I dry brushed with white and then added the lettering all based on Yoshimi 488. Finaly I went over the whole lot with stain to give it that worn look.

I will post the whole lot when completed. Not long now :-)

Five Parsecs: Container Terrain

Bit of an insight into how I work today, mainly that I never have only one project on the go at any one time. That's why I often have things appear that perhaps weren't expected, or there seemed no build up to.

So these are container type blocks which I have seen on tables more recently, MUMG, Five Parsecs, Warpath; these containers all work well in these games. So when I found half a broom handle and piece of left over 1.5" by 2.5" timber that until recently had been supporting a section of my guttering, I realsied that with some cereal card added I could create some interesting terrain pieces.

I have been doing bits to these over the last 4 days or so, but soon they will be finished, that's if the 448 Bar doesn't get in the way.

First few nearly finished.

Five Parsecs: The 488 Bar

Thought I would quickly share the very start of a medium sized project which I started a few days ago. Creating a bar for sci-fi games has been on my mind for a while now.

A bar would be a great place to meet patrons and to begin missions from. I have used the equivalent version, The Windy Wharfe for Quest on loads of occasions. See end of post.
Its also a very enjoyable project to start creating. I am looking forward to building it.

Basically I have created a space, from a photocopier box lid, to this I am making furniture which will create the bar feel.

At the very start I made loads of notes on the box to give me ideas, some I use, many I ignore. Also not helped when a wet cat sits ontop and smears some of the writing :-)

Tables, which can be removed, main entrance using the door template I created for my starship floor plans. I throw nothing away.

The bar itself, notice my note reminding me to make stool shapes along its side- will I remember?

In th centre I am making a sort of do-it-yourself food area, this will be removeable as well.

The outside will be decorated, mainly by adding loads of scraps to create a junk look.

Exterior doors and vid screen to go on wall. Another synth-alco machine which I will make and then gives me some variation. This way the same basic shape can be used to create another bar on another planet :-)

Interior walls and floors need sorting next along with furniture needs completing, then lots of painting.

Quick reminder of what the Wharf looked like, this model is about three years old.

Pulp Alley

Image result for pulp alley

Bought Pulp Alley last month through Wargames Vault. after Rogue Stars let me down, I like it when shot characters die on the table but then get chance to live again in the campaign, not the other way round.
I determined I would use Pulp to play small skirmish Sci-Fi games with a big dollop of Five Parsecs added in, to add narrative and background and see how it goes.

Will post some Leagues/crews soon, along with my own take on character recording.
