IHMN: Drawings (In response to Gordon)

Gordon, this is the sort of thing I have in mind to fill the open ground areas between the buildings and machines I have been making for In Her Majesty's Name.

Sorry the scanner was not keen on scanning from my sketch book, hence the blurred left hand side,  to be honest they're not the bits that interested me anyway. I think I will be looking at making 4 square areas initially and 1 round section with notches cut into it to accommodate the square ones.

Most of this will be card over hardboard with watch parts added for extra detail. Next month will see these done, I hope.

IHMN: Town Photoshoot

Set up all the terrain I have been putting together for In Her Majesty's Name. I added the new doors and the machinery/engine pieces, holding them on with blue tac.

I think they work generally but really feel I need about 3 or 4 larger silo's or industrial feel pieces to give the town a more obvious Steampunk feel. Also after some thought I will be making some boards with different steampunk themed flooring areas to tie the buildings together.

When these are finished I'll be doing the same for Frostgrave with the same buildings and lots of snow!

See what you think.

August Challenge Update

Here is the next batch of miniatures that I've managed to get completely finished and painted. All the Unity Guard and the Unity Marines. This is the largest group and have taken the longest time. Also I managed to fix the Medium Tank I had built several years ago and gave it a paint job.

They've given me the most problems, especially at the modelling stage, mainly because I made their heads too large. Actually I still think they are too large, but there you go, that's what happens when you make the miniatures all by hand I suppose.

IHMN Steampunk Machines

Painted the second wave of 5 machinery pieces this morning, so 7 in total so far.I have stuck with the same paint scheme to continuity. Dry brushed with silver and then washed with the green in the recesses, finally adding the watch parts I bought the other week with super glue. (Obviously I paid with cash, I used super glue to attach the watch parts :-))

AOSigmar: Beastmen V Dark Elves (5)

Club night over in Wakefield last night and I got to play Chris with his Dark Elves. I was very interested to see how his army worked as I have loads of Dark Elves myself.

So after a huge discussion about the whys and wherefores of Marvel films and their union with Disney, which was interesting, we got on with the game.

The Dark Elves started deployment and so had the first turn.

Chris's Dark Elves:
Lord
Master BSB
Sorcereress
20 Darkshards
20 Corsairs
20 Black Guard
Hydra
10 Cold one Knights

My Beastmen were:

Doombull
Malagor
Morghur
20 Bestigor
10 Centigor
3 Tuskgor Chariots
5 Minotaurs
5 Razorgor

The only slight alteration was that the Minotaurs had Double handed weapons this time.

The Razorgor were wiped out by the Black Guard, they are really nasty!

The Bestigor slowly whittle the Cold one Knights down.

The Doombull and the Hydra sqaure up.

Although 3 Minotaurs were slain, they managed to kill 9 in return and the subsequent battleshock took another 4 Elves I believe.

Two handed weapons causing 3 wounds are very good!

The Corsairs and the Knights are nearly defeated,

As is the Doombull.

So while the Doombull is slaughtered

So is the Dreadlord.

The last Corsair is laid to rest.

But then the Hydra thumps the living daylights out of the Centigor. While the Master destroyed both Chariots.

In a final ditch attempt at victory the Bestigor plough in, while Malagor cast spells at the Hydra.

Despite this last picture, the Bestigor, much depleted, killed the Hydra.

This left the Beastmen and the Dark Elves very poorly off and Chris and I agreed to the battle being a draw.

Epilogue

This was a really enjoyable game, it was back and forth and great fun.
Two handed weapons that cause 3 wounds are very good.
Must learn to use the Razorgor better.
Ungor can be used... how?
