Forest Cards

These are the cards I made to go with the Forest tiles I posted the other day, these things are all hand made and coloured by hand too. They do take a while, but when complete I think they look pretty well what I was hoping for. They work in exactly the same way as the Dungeon cards do, just give a feeling of it being a different branch of the game ( sorry for rotten pun!). Again these were made quite a while ago, with the exception of one objective card which I made this week and still have the tile to complete.

Character Profile

Bjorg

Battle Level: 3                          Atts: 2                                   Wounds: 14                                  Gold: 4032

Equipment: Great Axe, Rope, Chainmail Armour, Cloak of Deception, Axe of Slaughter, Fanged Death Helm, Tankard

Potions: Potion of Strength

Skills: Death Song, Mighty Blow

Tactical/Background
Bjorg is the baby of the group, the last to join. At first he was carried quite a bit of the time. Recently however he gained two very important bits of kit, no not the tankard (although if you ask him...), the Axe of Slaughter and the Fanged Death Helm which suddenly boosted his ability to to damage his foes. Now he has taken a more prominent role in all our games. He has always been good in defence, especially now he has the cloak of deception.

Forest Quest

This is a reworking of the Forest Tiles that I made back in January. Initially they were very plain, I didn't want to put too much detail on them so that I could add separate pieces to make them individual. However I recently looked at the work of Nychthemeron over on warseer, Warhammer Quest thread and it really inspired me to alter the tiles I had completed.
So I've added card, flock, stones, static grass and bits of wood to create patterns in each section. My take on Forest Quest is that the forest is around the pathways that lead through it, so there are paths, winding paths, glades and objective clearings.
I've made a whole set of new Forest Cards detailing what the tiles look like, very similar to the original dungeon cards. I will post these tomorrow.

Pictures of the individual tiles.

Big Cat Fun

Here's one for fathers and eldest son only, what can you make from some Bretonian and High Elf left overs and a big cheap plastic tiger? Answers on a postcard to the usual address please.

Well the answer is either a unit filler for Dragon Princes or Silver Helms or A big killy character on a tiger
(is there such a thing?)

Character Profile

Jazz the Barbarian Hound

Battle Level: 4              Atts: 3                                         Wounds: 23                                  Gold: 3322

Equipment: Fangs of Leaping Copper, Collar of Stone, Light Armour, Throwing Axe, Spear, Lifestealer Talisman, Flash Powder, Pelt of Deception, 4 casks of beer.

Potions: Healing Potion, Potion of Flight

Skills: Beserk, Sixth Sense, Run, Battle Rage

Tactical Play and Background:
Jazz became a character when Serefina came across a pet dog in the city of Jaccio about a year ago and we decided that she should become a fully fledged character. We had just lost Ellessar an elf wardancer, so it seemed a good move.  Jazz is the baby of the group, although recently she is coming into her own. When she first joined, they were all 2/3 levels higher than her and more powerful. In the last few games she is beginning to emerge as a power in her own right.

With her Fangs of copper giving her an extra attack, the Collar of stone and Pelt of deception, she is good both offensively and defensively. When combined with Battlerage and Beserk, usually later in a game, Jazz can become a killing machine.
Sixth sense can be a fantastic tool, it enables the team to plan their approach before committing to the room. Her Run ability means she can sometimes pick her targets, best in large rooms where there is more space.

Above all Jazz is Serefina's personal body guard, they are inseparable. They have had several adventures alone without the rest of the group in full roleplay  games. I feel that the development of Jazz from a pet to full blown character helped to make our adventures more personalized as we invested more into our characters.

Beastmen Shoot

This is my standard Beastmen 2000 point army, although having said that there are a few elements I'm trying out this time round that I have not used before. Most notably are the Razorgor, not been good for me in the past, but who knows what might happen. Like the High Elves, this is just a small part of a 8,000 pt total list, but due to moving and stuff most are packed away. Unlike the HE, there is nothing left to paint for the Beastmen, I had a massive push on them last year and all but a few gor are done. Again like the HE there are a mixture of really old an old models here. One of the minotaurs is a reaper model but who cares?

Will post a full list in next few days.
