Sorcerer's and Alchemist's Table

Started making these last night, while watching a film. Was nice to be looking at another area of Quest rather than the buildings or monsters. Painted them this morning, really enjoyed the whole process.

I like it when I get really inspired to complete a short body of work and low and behold, its finished, very gratifying.

At time of photographing these models are still slightly wet!
First the Sorcerer's table;

And the Alchemist's table;

These were made from; foam board off cuts
                                     cocktail sticks
                                     skewer sticks
                                     plastic /wooden beads
                                     match sticks
                                     card board
                                     sand and glue - to make underside of tables strong and heavy

Buildings Update

For those that thought that the village had ceased production while I was making wraiths and caverns, here is an update. The big news really is that all the roofs have been completed, the area I find very boring. The windows are all done and the end is at hand generally.

I will even go out on a limb and say that I will have these finished by the end of the week.

As you can see they are all at different stages, but as far as the exterior is concerned they are nearly all close to completion.

All the windows are made, I say all, but there is a good chance I may make a few more or some double windows as features.

This is how I usually make roof sections, loads of individual tiles, while they look good they take an age to make.

This is the alternative method I used for the last 2 buildings and it was a lot quicker to be honest. I would say it was a different look, but not necessarily awful. I cut strips the length of the roof+, then cut slots across the piece, finally I nipped the corners off. It does take a while to do, but they are so much easier and quicker to glue on that it was worth it.

Cavern Cards

As I mentioned the other day here are the Cavern Cards I have made to go with the new cavern tiles. There are another 5 caverns in the pipeline but they will be completed later on in the year.

The cards;

Soon as these are complete, i.e now, I can start using them in our games.

Spider's Lair

Here is the Spider's Lair Cavern that I have been working on for a while now. It has a double raised area in the centre with a hole cut into both pieces of foam board.

These are the separate pieces I made to create the 3D webbed areas. Its a pile of stones sandwiching a section of textured rubber mat, which I thought was fairly close to webbing, ish.

Here it is all put together.

And finally some close ups.

Cards to follow.

Sparrow Pendant

Not really related very much to whats mostly on my Blog, but there is a tenuous link. My "better half" was going to a fancy dress party as Jack Sparrow and she asked me to paint this on her necklace.

No pictures of her all dressed up am afraid, she got poorly and didn't go, poor love.
