Frostgrave: 10 mm Terrain

Two new buildings to add to my slowly developing Frostgrave ruins collection.

First  I made the base ruined building. I intend making several of these for the finished board.
I'm thinking of making the basic board 16 inch square and hope to add some raised sections for variety.
Presently I have a 12 inch board washed up, its what you can see in the background of these pictures.

From the other side.

I'm not creating the classic snowbound terrain look, a ruined city, reminiscent of Mordheim is what i'm after.

The second ruin is possibly a church or temple.
Lots of arches to hide beneath and tumble down walls.

Same temple form various angles.

Next time I post another collection of these I will place one of my 10 mm miniatures in shot for size comparison.

High Elf Army in 3 mm

I think this is the third incarnation of my 3 mm home made High Elves, re-based and added too.
They are mounted on 25 mm square bases, smaller version of the basing for Fantastic Battles which is normally 40 mm.

Spearmen.

Archers.

Command

Heavy cavalry and command.

Household Guard.

The whole army so far.

With data cards for playing Fantastic Battles.

Future developments; these units are next to be built.

Long time no blog: 10 mm terrain

This is the first time I have posted in quite some time, not because I have not been making stuff that was relevant but because the whole blogging thing had left me cold.
However I recently felt it was time I recorded the things I have been up to.

I will be mainly posting in three core area; Warmaster miniatures, Roleplaying miniatures and 3mm miniatures.

This is the first in a series of posts about handcrafted 10 mm buildings for use in Warmaster and also for a 10mm Frostgrave project I have embarked upon.
These buildings have been constructed from tapers, PVAcrete and card of different thicknesses as well as Geek Gaming's excellent Base Ready range, sieved to help with the scale.
The model is on a 50 mm by 60 mm base and is 70 mm to highest point.

High Elf Remodel: 3 mm

After making the Orcs and feeling flush with success, however false it may have been, I decided to make a 600 point High Elf force.

A regiment of spears top right, a regiment of Palace guard, top left,
two troops of archers and an elf Lord on foot,

Constructed in s very similar way to the orcs but with minor alterations and major colour changes.

Again I was pleased with how they came out, they looked quite Elfy...

My next project will be 600 points of Dwarfs, and a how too guide to making your own 3mm miniatures,

Thanks for dropping by.

Orc Army Redesign: 3mm

I did say I had remodeled the Orcs, so here they are,

Fingers to give idea of scale.

Rear view of a regiment of Ax for mini Kings of War.

Top and front views of same unit.

Krudger leader on a Gore and his Pal Eye-gouger the Giant.

Troop of skulks on gores.

Below are long Ax, Moreax, and Greatax regiments, all constructed by same method and painted the best my eyes would allow :-)

Didn't really mean to make the Longax regiment, but was my first experiment to see if my ideas were possible, so they have to remain in the army as they were the first recruits to the horde.

Side view of the Ax regiments.

Completed 1200 pts ready to play in a solo campaign, when I get my finger out...

I much prefer these to the "boxy" units I produced earlier this year.
Elves will be on their way shortly
