Modeling Update

Thought I would fill out what has been happening on the general modeling front in the past few days since I got side tracked in the caverns I have been making.

Da list:
4 Juggernauts with warrior riders
6 Deamonettes
3 Dragon Ogres
3 Beasts of Nurgle
6 Chaos Champions
3 Gorgons
1 Cockatrice
3 Giant Scorpions
4 Ghosts
5 Wights
10 Tomb Guards
3 Wraiths
10 Black Orc Champions
1 Liche

Now as you can see I have crossed out quite a few things on Da list, however I feel a little prematurely, as most of them are not painted yet. Also I have been looking at the village buildings and have moved them all forward since the last time I posted about them, so here is a bit of catch up.

So what we have here is a mass of half finished items which I thought it might be nice for you to see, so you can compare what I have managed to do, with the finished items. Does that make sense?

First off, the village: all moving along, lot of exterior painting to be done and the interiors to model.

Only this one nearing completion, mainly because I get very bored tiling the roofs.

Roof, roof, roof, roof.......

Its not a village its a load of seaside huts!!

You will have seen the Liche in yesterdays pictures of the Roots Room. He's ok.

Three Gorgons, ready for some paint. As I thought I would, these have had extra arms added and some details on the snake parts.

Six Chaos Champions, using standard warriors because I use the older models as warriors. These just need paint.

Five Wights, he he he, yes I know, pre-war Black Orcs with skeleton faces do not make Wights! Well they jolly well do round here.

Character models, which just need paint. Really glad I managed to get Helga off ebay, for all those players that fancy playing a female dwarf (you know who you are).

Roots Room

Following on from the other day, this is the second of the 3 new tiles I have been working on for my Quest set. I see these 3 as an intermediary set of tiles leading from Forests to Dungeon games.

I think the next, Spiders Lair, is going to take some time and create some problems, we will see.

Will be making the card later, will post when complete.

Here are some more views with some models and some appropriate furniture. The roots are made from a small piece of stick around which is worked toilet roll soaked in wood glue and water, 50/50 mix.

Chiefs Cave Card

A quick update today, last night while watching TV I made the Dungeon card that goes with the tile I made yesterday. So here it is.

And a reminder of the Chiefs Cave.

The Chiefs Cave

You may remember that quite a while ago I had a whole list of jobs to do, monsters, buildings, characters and three new tiles. Here is the first of these new tiles. It is a reworking of tile called the Chiefs Cave, I became aware of it many years ago back in the 80/90's when I used to play role playing games like D&D.

Later it came to my attention as part of a scenario printed in White Dwarf (edition 100) in the 90's, the Floating Gardens of Bahb-Elonn (possible misspelling there). A great adventure with Pygmies, what could be better!

So here is my version of the Chiefs Cave, which I have had to interpret quite a lot. I have added scattered weapons, rough bedding and a brazier from my collection of furniture. I like to add these as separates so that I can alter the look of the tile whenever I use it, its more versa...tile (sorry, bad pun).

The last thing I need to do is to create a card for it so that it can be popped into my standard dungeon deck.
Although at the moment I have developed quite a few new tiles and cards, possibly enough for me to have 2 separate decks and therefore make each adventure a bit more unexpected and unique.

Wraiths

Finished the three Wraith models that I have been working on. These are not brilliant, the one at the back is definitely my least favourite. It was my first attempt, so there you go, am still gonna use it though.

Neither the robes nor the face quite work, looks more like an owl!

Will be looking at the Liche next.
