Jungle Tree Terrain

Quite a large dump of pictures of all the different small pieces of terrain I have been either building from scratch or re-working to give more value on the table.

All the trees have been recently added to my collection, bought very cheaply some time ago. During lockdown and a bit before I have managed to base them all so they can be used in clumps of 2 or 3 trees.

The jungle bases I made some time ago but have been adding Tufts from Geek Gaming to really enhance them. There is still work to do to the bases of the low jungle pieces and the palm trees.

Finally there are some very small pieces, either small clumps of vegetation or small circular pieces like wood piles or watery swamp areas and to these I have been adding more grass tufts to enhance they're use. 

Next post will be a quick review of how the palm tree bases were made.

D&D: Cottage/Shop Fronts

I have a series of games for D&D coming up which are set in the confines of a city. For the most part with the maps I have should be fine to run, but I have a player who can find visualising scenes a bit difficult so I thought lets help that situation. 

And to be honest when a combat occurs in a city it would look interesting to have buildings or an approximation to help run said combat.And I have quite a while before our next game.

So I watched DM Scotty's video about building shop fronts, which helped and set about organising myself to create a total of 10 buildings.

Mainly built from some foamboard I was given by another player, also card, hardboard, tapers and matchsticks. In the end I didn't have to buy anything.

This is as far as I have got with the build so far.

I use one of my old "full" cottages to help with the general design and layout.

Also I have made them so they work alongside the building floorplans I made some time ago.

To present I have 5 ready for further development, will post more when I have got on with them.

D&D: Dinosaur Encounter: Third

This last set of pictures is mainly about the larger Dinos, that I picked up from a couple of second hand shops, for pennies, probably £5 for the lot.

Pretty much the same size but of varying quality, some didn't make the cut as they looked too cartoony and toy like. These were ok, so a coat of paint dry brush and wash over the top, as per the smaller critters in the other 2 posts. 

The lower one had pose-able limbs, so I glued those.

Very cheap, quick to create, but took some time to collect. Patience was the word, but then I never had a date when I knew they would be needed for, so wasn't a problem really.

So that's it there will be no more dinosaur posts for some time now :-)

Yay!!!!

D&D: Dinosaur Encounter: Second

Not much to say about these really, they come from same boxed set of kids toys the Pteradons came from and so were very cheap. Still have loads in the box that may get used in the future.

Not dynamically posed and not terribly exciting, but cheap and cheerful. When there is a really good chance I am never likely to use dinosaurs in a campaign ever again, cheap is where you have to go.

Some bases added and a lick of paint and a wash or two and they work OK.

Can't really complain when I only paid £2.99 this tub of dinos have been in my loft waiting to emerge for 3 years now.

Last post in this group will be up this week, focuses on the larger cousins of this lot and that didn't come in the tub.
