Set up one of my 4' by 3' boards with most of the terrain I have either made recently or have had in boxes for years just waiting for their moment to errupt upon the scene.
I am aware the "cloth" water is higher than the ground, worrying possible flood conditions, but I'm happy for the moment, think it looks OK.
I've used my Mordheim gang as stand in's for the ships crew, although I do have a box of the plastic models on their way as I have got involved in the Kickstarter from North Star Military Miniatures.
Perhaps a thin length of creamy/sandy coloured cloth could be put between.
The "Wicked Wendy", still not completed I'm afraid.
