I have been very much caught up in creating my Spartan army to play Kings of War historical games in the last few days and so far have completed a regiment of Heavy Spearmen and a troop of skirmishers.
Heavy spearmen - Hoplites
These are 15 mm Essex miniatures, smashing models, fun to paint.
The spears are a bit annoying as they bend very easily, I worry that in the future they may well break.
May have to replace with tougher wire at some point.
Skirmishers along with the hoplites are the backbone of the Spartan army, well the way i'll be playing them they will :-)

I have really enjoyed putting these together and already have several other units on the go.
