Caverns/Walkways

For quite some time now I have had these walkways half finished and kicking around my modelling area. The idea of them is to give the cavern set of boards I created a different level so that they have a sense of height at certain times.

I am going to make a sub-set of cards that will take the adventurers onto the walkways, but only for a short number of turns. First there will be a Ladder card, which will be shuffled into the Caverns deck, which will then start a sub-deck of maybe around 5 cards at most. The Ladder card will instruct the players to draw 1D3 +1 cards from the Walkways deck, the last of these will always trigger another Ladder down card at the end, back to the Caverns.

So these are the walkways I've made so far, they are influenced by the first Hobbit movie and other models people have created. They are made from MDF and tapers so they are quite strong but reasonably light.

ClashOTF:Unity Force

These are going to be the core of my Unity Force, a unit of five Unity Guard, a unit of five Unity Marines, each with a tank as support. I am in the middle of making a Leader model although I have included the Mech as another possible character.

The terrain is either home made or from Battle of the Five Armies GW game.

Just need to write out their stats and then they will be ready for  game.

Frostgrave

Have just read a review of Frostgrave, below, sounds like a very interesting game from Mr McCullough and Osprey games and one I will be buying in July when it is released. Click on the picture to take you to the review over at Garage Gamers.

I always liked Mordhiem and this looks like its taken the campaign and character development further.

Five Parsecs: Crew of the SS Sulimann

After the last game the crew found themselves scurrying back to their shuttle, the Denis Denis, with Halo Jobes in tow.

Post game, it became clear that while not dead, poor Kassel would be out of the campaign for 8 more turns and permanently lose 1 from his movement. Kassel decided it was time the Sulimann had a permanent engineer on board and that he was the man for the job, Junke agreed.

I also threw a Captive roll on the Loot table, which indicated that Halo should become part of the crew, however it seemed that her psionic abilities had been much exaggerated, (isn't it always the way.)

At least the crew found out and not Unoleg and Plade, she may well have come to a sticky end at their hands. The crew quickly left Sarin wanting to keep a good distance between themselves and Oskar Unoleg.

So this is how the revised crew sheet looks at the moment. Currently mid "tunnel" en route to Liba.

Army Display Board

After showing the Dark Elves the other day I realised that really not much of the actual board could be seen from the pictures, so here are a few shots to give you the idea of what it actually looked like.

As I said it was mainly made for tournament use, but since I haven't really competed in a tournament for 2 years now, it needs to be used for another purpose. As a easy storage area for pre-deployment and then later for casualties it works fine.

Its a hard board base with foam card overlaid to create a second level, decorated with stones, sand, flagstones made from card and some static grass.

ClashOTF: Unity Marines

I worked on these yesterday, am trying to get two small forces together so that I can have a solo game of Clash. These will be my Unity Marines, to go along with the Unity Guard I posted a while back.

When these are all painted I will pit them against the Pirate force that I already have. Perhaps add the two tanks as they seem more Unity in nature.

Will need to make a leader for the Unity troops and perhaps a Psion as well.

I still have to give these a wash and colour the base so they link in with the Unity Guard.

In the pipe line are my version of Bugs/Swarm type creatures. I plan to make at least 20 of these basic miniatures, then some larger nastier horrors.

Have made all the frames and glued them onto bases, just the hard work of all the GS modelling.
