KOW: Minotaurs Rebased

Had not played with my minotaurs for quite some time so decided it was time to get them out and only then realised that they had not benefitted from rebasing like most of my herd army had done, so I got busy.

These are very old miniatures, mostly from from the 90's, those with shields were made by me, the shields that is.

The nearset minotaur is a reaper bones model, very good, cheap alternative.

2 Hordes or 4 regiments. Still have at least another Horde to base up.

With and without flash, which is best?

Cut new 40 mm by 120 mm bases out of hardboard and glued them on, painting the edges with some green I picked up from B&Q cheap.

I haven't finished these yet, I need to fill the gaps with PVAcrete and then add flock or clump foliage, so you'll get to see these again no doubt :-)

MUMG: The Avengers...so far.

Here are the 4 characters I have bought to create the Avengers I loved reading about as a kid. I haven't bought the best "team", just the models of the Avengers I loved.

The Vision.

Hawkeye.

The Black Panther.

I have to say that they have been quite fiddly to put together and have the potential for breakage, so if you buy any really be careful putting them together. As you can see I had to use bits of GS all over the place to fill gaps and to reinforce. There are lots of arms, legs and pieces of equipment to attach to some of the miniatures

I still need to add some stones and gravel to their bases before I start painting them, but I hope to get them at least primed today, although the house requires my carpentry skills for the majority of the day :-)

KOW: Herd V Empire of Dust

Got to play Steve the Magnificent last week at the WWarriors, which was smashing as Steve's job is getting in the way of his gaming, which is a shame.

We played a pitched battle, Herd V Empire of Dust.

I am trying out having 2 regiments of Longmane centaurs and 2 hordes of minotaurs, supportedf by the longhorns and spirit walkers.

Steve had a Horde of archers, bone giant, horde of guardians and another of guardian archers, very nasty! A regiment of revenants and various character models to help him surge and heal units. A scavenger unit and a scorpion husk.

Only a few pictures, but great fun was had and the outcome was a draw.

My newly based Minotaurs, will post some more pictures later.

My Shamen did a good job of healling the minotaurs and the centaurs.

Thought I had them on the ropes here but Steve's army fought bravely back.

Combat in the woods.Thought the Longmanes might have done more damage, but really they needed support.

The Longmanes failing to kill a priest.

The final scene, very good game and plenty of laughs, very happy with the result.
A draw :-) which was lucky against Steve, he wasn't match tight to be honest, not played in a good while.

MUMG: Sabretooth

Having recieved Sabretooth from Ebay the other day I really wanted to get him painted so I could set him against Cap in a battle to get the feel of Marvel Universe Miniature Game.

Again he is another finely sculpted miniature, great fun to paint. I added a piece of slate to the base but other than that the model is as it was.

I have in a box, Black Panther, Hawkeye and the Vision to go with Cap. While I have the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants to go with Sabretooth. Lots to paint and lts of fun to be had.

Frostgrave: Cheap Portable Board

Was at B&Q yesterday and always look at the cheap vinyl tiles and spotted these. Got 11 for £7.10, will make a 2' board and some singles to add round it. Will base them all on hardboard for a bit of strength.

This is 4 tiles I have glued to a 2' square piece of hardboard, the others I will keep as individual boards mounted on hardboard, for ease of  packing.

Recon they will be good  for playing with on holidays or for general travelling play.

So this is what the 2' board looks like with terrain on, think it looks fine.

Going to cut some boards and have half of thenm covered in sand painted white.

KOW: Cottage from a Cat Food Box

The cottage from the cat food box is now complete so I can take it to the club. It came out OK in the end despite taking a long time to finally paint.

Rather strangely, what pushed me to complete it was, Millie, our fluffiest cat, liked to rub herself against it every day and it was in danger of having so much fur that it was only a matter of time before it got fed!
